How far his utmost end from relief!

49

wa maaa aq-nat'ahoo min suhoolatil-makh-raji?

How he will despair of an easy exit!

50

a'd-lam-min qaz''aaa-ika laa tajooru feeh

wa ins'aafam-min h'uk-mika laa tah'eefu a'lay-h

and equity from Your judgement (Thou dost not act wrongfully against him!).

52

faqad z'aahar-tal-h'ujaj wa ab-lay-tal-aa'-d'aar

You supported the arguments, tested the excuses,

53

wa qad t-taqad-dam-ta bil-wae'ed wa talat'-t'af-ta fit-tar-gheeb

began with threats, showed gentleness with encouragement,

wa z''arab-tal-am-thaal wa at'al-tal-im-haal

struck similitudes, made long the respite,

55

wa akh-khar-ta wa anta mus-tat'eeu'l-lil-mua'ajalah

delayed, while You art able to hurry,

56

wa taan-nay-ta wa anta malee-um-bil-mubaadarah

and acted without haste, while You art full of quick accomplishment!

57

lam takun anaatuka a'j-zaa wa laaa im-haaluka wah-naa

Not because of incapacity is Your slowness, feebleness Your giving respite,

58

wa laaa im-saakuka ghaf-lah wa laa antiz'aaruka mudaaraah

wa ih'-saanuka aw-faa wa nia'-matuka atam

60.Your beneficence more exhaustive, Your favour more complete!

61.All of this has been and always was, is and ever will be.

62

h'uj-jatuka ajal-lu min an toos'afa bikul-lihaa

62.Your argument is greater than that its totality be described,

63

wa maj-duka ar-fau' min ay-yuh'ad-da bikun-hih

63.Your glory more elevated than that it be limited in its core,

64

wa nia'-matuka ak-tharu min an tuh'-s'aa bi s-rihaa

64.Your favour more abundant than that its entirety be counted,

65

wa ih'-saanuka ak-tharu min an tush-kara a'laaa aqal-lih

65.Your beneficence more abundant than that thanks be given for its least amount!

66

wa qad qas'-s'ara beeas-sukootu a'n tah'-meedik

66.Speechlessness has made me fall short of praising You,

67

wa fah-hahaneel-im-saaku a'n tam-jeedik

67.restraint has made me powerless to glorify You,

68

wa qus'aaraayal-iq-raaru bil-h'usoori

68.and the most I can do is admit to inability,

69

laa ragh-bataa-yaaa ilaahee bal a'j-zaa

69.not out of desire, my God, but out of incapacity.

70

fahaaa ana d'aa aw-um-muka bil-wifaadah wa as-aluka h'us-nar-rifaadah

70.So here I am: I repair to You by coming forward, and I ask from You good support

71

fas'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih was-maa' naj-waay

71.So bless Muhammad and his Household, hear my whispered words,

72

was-tajib dua'aa-ee wa laa takh-tim yaw-mee bikhay-batee

72.grant my supplication, seal not my day with disappointment,

73

wa laa taj-bah-nee bir-rad-di fee mas-alatee

73.slap not my brow by rejecting my request,

74

wa ak-rim min i'ndika muns'arafee wa ilay-ka munqalabee

74.and make noble my coming from You and my going back to You!

75

in-naka ghay-ru z''aaa-iqim-bimaa tureed wa laa a'ajizin a'm-maa tus-al

75.Surely You art not constrained by what You desirest, nor incapable of what You art asked!

76

wa anta a'laa kul-li shay-in qadeer

76.You art powerful over everything,

77

wa laa h'aw-la wa laa qoo-wata il-laa bil-lahil-a'lee-yil-a'z'eem

77.and there is no force and no strength save in God, the All-high, the All-mighty!
